What is a multi-currency collection account?

A multi-currency collection account lets you receive and hold payments in foreign currencies, like a local business. The accounts are issued by our partner, can be held in your name, and other banks and financial institutions can make payments into them. You can also use them to initiate outgoing payments.

Who uses collection accounts

Exporters
You invoice customers abroad. They can pay you in their own currency, and you receive and hold the funds like a local business.
Businesses selling in several currencies
You collect from customers in more than one currency. Separate accounts keep your receipts organized and the balance stays in that currency until you need it.
Businesses that also pay in those currencies
Hold what you collect in USD, EUR or GBP and use it to pay suppliers in the same currency, so you avoid converting back and forth.

Multi-currency accounts: common questions

What are currency accounts?

Currency accounts are accounts issued by partners, allowing clients to collect funds and initiate outgoing payments. They can be held in the client's name, and other banks and financial institutions can make payments to them.

Which currencies can I collect?

You can collect 35 currencies. Contact us to confirm availability for the currency you need.

Can I pay suppliers from the same account?

Yes. Currency accounts let you collect funds and initiate outgoing payments.

What is a virtual IBAN?

A virtual IBAN is a set of account details linked to your currency account so customers can pay you directly. Ask us about availability for the currency and region you need.

Can several people use the account, with approvals?

Yes. Administrators can add as many users as you need, set custom access levels, build approval workflows and require dual authorization (the four-eyes principle) before funds are released.

Are there account opening fees?

Opening an account is completely free, and you get full access to the platform.

Is FinXtra regulated?
